Abstract:An analytical method for simultaneous determination of adrenergic drug residues in pork was developed by ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS). The instrument was operated using an electrospray ionization source in the positive ion mode with multiple reaction monitoring (MRM). Qualitative and quantitative analysis was performed by the internal standard method. The limit of quantitation was 5 μg/kg for isoprenaline, phenylephrine and metaraminol; 10 μg/kg for adrenaline and dopamine; and 50 μg/kg for noradrenaline. The calibration curves were linear in the concentration range of 1.0–100.0 μg/L with correlation coefficients (R2) greater than 0.99. The average recoveries of spiked samples were in the range of 81.9%–93.1%. The proposed method is simple, rapid, reliable, stable, highly sensitive, and suitable for large-scale laboratory analysis of adrenergic drug residues in pork.
