Abstract:Mussel, a highly flavoured and nutrition food ,is a kind of common shellfish in the coastal area and are widely consumed by the people.This paper introduces the types of mussels, distribution, nutritional value and the research and developments of mussel functions and mussel product .The prospects of mussel food were also analysed.
