Abstract:As the incidence of cardiovascular disease rises year by year, prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease is particularly important in this society. As natural components of plants or animals, some auxiliarily lipid-lowering functional factors play potentially important role. This article summarises lipid-lowering effects of ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, plant sterols, dietary fiber, polyphenols and soy protein and simple related mechanisms.
